Trailblazing Women: Leadership, Resilience, Adaptability

Our newest issue highlights the amazing women working to make Seattle a better place

By Rob Smith May 7, 2024

Seattle native Jean Smart

One of the women in our May/June “Trailblazing Women” issue, couldn’t believe she was in the same magazine that featured noted actor and Seattle native Jean Smart.

You no doubt know a woman with a combination of personal and professional traits that contribute to their immense achievement and success. We introduce you to a dozen of these women in the May/June issue of Seattle magazine. They describe, in their own words, how they’ve used their strategic thinking skills, emotional intelligence, resilience, and leadership to make both a name for themselves and a more inclusive Seattle community.

We also celebrate domestic-abuse survivor Hannah Byrd, who is rowing across the Pacific Ocean with three teammates to educate, inspire, and empower women of all ages.

Looking for a gourmet sandwich? We explore several top chefs who are making sandwiches you have to taste to believe. Warning: This is not Subway, and in some cases will cost a little more, but we guarantee they’re well worth the money.

Get ready for summer travel with our semi-annual travel issue (Snohomish, anyone? It’s a thing), and get prepared to kick off summer with books from three respected Seattle authors.

That’s just a smattering of what’s in store in our newest issue.

If you want to jump in now, grab a copy from the newsstand. We’ll be rolling out these and other stories slowly online over the next two months. In the meantime, subscribe here to get the magazine delivered straight to your door.
